: Great Image!! How many assistants, reflectors
: and flash heads did that one take?? ;o)Thanks, Paul!
We actually let the camera do the work. Set the Tamron 28-200 zoom at it's 28mm wide angle position, hand held, matrix metering that we verified with a hand held Sekonic meter and fired away.
We were particularly interested in image sharpness and color rendition. Lots of articles, and our own tests using Canon's new full-frame difgital and the Kodak 14N proved to us that the Kodak renders a more accurate color palette. The Canon is very nice but tends to add a pastel look to its images. And the Kodak/Nikon does have a higher resolution. Both cameras are very nice in actual use. We just opted for the Kodak/Nikon because we liked it better. We followed lots of rumors down about a new Fuji S-3, a replacement for the Nikon D1x and a totally new imaging system.
But, after talking directly to factory reps for Nikon, Fuji etc. We were told that while Nikon is going to make an announcement about a "Prosumer" camera on July 22nd, that a replacement for the D1x is at least six months to a year away. Fuji said that the S-3 is reasonably about the same timeline. A totally new imaging chip/system seems about three years away and will probably emerge first in a digital VCR that will have a still film capability that rivals the best of todays 6 to 10 megapixel chips. That will change the way we do business, don't you think?
