I don't mind how much retouching anyone does if it's got a helpful purpose such as mood enhancement (this is a great example), it only bothers me when I see a photo retouched to the point where serious flaws are being concealed, or when it's really pointless (obviously smart blurred faces, for instance, when it isn't needed). I want to know about flaws before I hire someone, not retouch them afterward. But creativity on the desktop is an art form of it's own. We're all doing it to one degree or another. Tools are only tools.
