Color temp -vs- strobe output
(Michael and Barbara Jarboe)
Thanks for your long post.
But you missed few very important things.
1st of all, I don't use grey card to do my WB. Like I said in my original post: "setting color temp. correctly to match with your flash head" So I found what the color temp. is for my flash tube , then I set my custom WB/color temp. to that number. (I know using softbox, umbrella or anything between the flash and the subject will change color temp. too)
2nd of all, (I don't know how Nikon works, but at least for Canon is) the "mid grey" setting in the camera is 12% not, 18% grey anymore, so the official Kodak 18% grey card or the white card don't work well . That's the main reason why I don't use grey/white card for any light meter reading.
I totally agree with you, digital is far more sensitive than film (3 stops vs. 5 stops lattiude), that's why I want to find out how other photographers are doing it.
I have no problem spending time in front of the computer doing CC, it is just like when I spent my time in my color darkroom making prints, not a big deal, but if I can get my image as accurate as possible at the shoot, that will be great.
Color temp -vs- strobe output level

Not an issue for me
