I've actually had the same problem with photographers. They e-mail me about a shoot, we discuss it through e-mail and... just when it's to the point where we're discussing scheduling... they vanish and stop responding to e-mails. I used to think that it was just me, but after hearing other models and photographers are having similar problems, I have to chalk it up to the flake factor.

For every good, reliable and upstanding model or photographer, there's 10 people who are trying to play model/ photographer. I have some theories as to why they do what they do, but... it's pretty irrelavent. The end result is the same, no matter what their thought process is: They annoy me. But, I've found that being annoyed is counter productive. I just file their e-mails away in my "Flake" database, because at least 50% of the time, I do hear from them again. They e-mail, apparently unaware of the fact that they've wasted my time before, and usually try to do it again.

Kids, gotta love 'em, right?

: Then... model stops answering emails, and drops
