I also have photographers do the same thing. For example, I had a photographer (not known here) contact me in April or May about a big shoot in August. He booked me for it and we corresponded up until last month, when he stopped answering my e-mail. Unfortunately, I have given up other paid work for the dates he booked. So now he is a flake and has lost me money.

Don't worry David, it happens on both ends.
