Most of the models who market themselves on the internet have a very "skewed" vision of what the modeling industry is, the internet modeling world is vastly diffent from the brick and mortar versions in the world. Models on the internet I have found (just my opinion) have a decidedly different motive for profit, testing for money, websites and the lot, The agency models are more the ilk of what the jarboe(s) (jarboes's? Y'now who i refer to) said, PROFESSIONAL .... Models in the real world dont charge for tests, they understand the benefit of a professional portfolio, No guns, angel wings, swords, stripper boots with a bikini, bondage wear, fishnet body suits.... you get the idea. Agencies here in the northwest would certainly pitch kittens if they saw that kind of work. But thats not to say that kind of imagery doesn't have a market, it certainly does on the internet and I applaud anyone who can make some skrill in this economy.

my drawnout answer is this, Models on the internet are on the earth to make a dollar form the photographer, not to create images that make their portfolio better, Nick Johnson told me a cute story about this topic exacly, he sets up shoot with girl found via the internet, gets location, make-up, film blah blah.. model calls him after the shoot is set up and decides she is now going to charge for a test cuz she has to pay for gas to get to the shoot, Nick replies "OK we'll trade expenses I'll pay the 10 bucks for gas if you pay for film, developing (120 and 35mm) Make-up, rental and my gas..." I could never think that fast on my feet, I would just tell them "fine go find some mouth-breather to throw you up against a wall in some alley wearing a bikini for 100 bucks an hour..." Nothing wrong with that again, im sure there is a market for that.
