: The way I see it, both the photographer and the
: model get photos to use for whatever they
: want. If the photographer is smart enough to
: make money off of it, more power to her/him.
: If the model can make money off the photos
: (and a lot of them do at tradeshows or
: websites) why not? It's a trade, it's that
: simple.: That email was a little corny though, I sure
: hope it was just an example.
I was being satirical, that wasn't a genuine email. That's what I worry about, that some models just don't read behind the words and catch what is happening until it's too late.
If someone wants to shoot with a particular photographer who has a flashy offer to work on some ethereal project, and does it for gas and change (or nothing), that's cool, but it doesn't make them professional models. Coincidentally, it doesn't make the photographer look good to truly professional models, either, paying nothing for hard work, and I think anyone who is perceptive can see the difference in the photos, just by noticing who ISN'T shooting with them. It's quite obvious if you look closely, seeing a steady stream of faces you don't see anywhere else, or see again.
Some people do know better. I'm still hoping more of them will respond here.
