Gabe,
As We recall, what we said was that we are tired of seeing images that were not properly exposed.
Tired of seeing models with skin that was so washed out and overexposed that it didn't have any color or detail. We are still amazed by how many photographers there are out there promoting themselves and posting work when they don't even know how to use a basic hand held meter and get exposure correct. There are so many who think that the meter in their camera will give them a correct exposure.
A snapshooter is one who takes pictures; sometimes good pictures. A photographer is one who takes pictures and understands the relationship between things such as light, exposure, composition, etc.
A professional Photographer is all of the above but gets images by design rather than by acident, and can repeat the results as necessary.
That's the point we were trying to make.
And, we are still amazed at the amount of money people will pay for a camera, but won't spend the $30 or $40 dollars for an inexpensive hand-held meter that could really improve their images.
That's all.
