The joys of DIGITAL Black and White Photography

I was doing a (cough) glamour shoot with two White Lightning 10k strobes. I shot Kodachrome 64, Fuji Provia, as well as digital. Nothing looked better than the Kodachrome slides - bright colors, wonderful contrast.
Here's an example of what a digital camera sees when you "desaturate" the color.
btw - I stand by what I said. Nobody will make a B&W digital camera. That discontinued Kodak "monochrome" camera most likely produced images like this one. This is not B&W; it's greyscale, at best.
This image is flat and uninteresting. It's a design flaw in digital cameras which just will not capture all the the mid-tones. Yea, you can "tweak" it in Photoshop, but imagine how much better of a photograph this would have been using Scala B/W slide film? Better resolution, better mid-tones, far superior film latitude.
