I realize there are a lot of people devoted to that lifestyle, that they have a right to express themselves as they choose and that 'art' is subjective, as are life styles. I certainly have no wish to tell them their choices are wrong, but I'm an old fart and I truely hate that sheiss. As several know, I spent many years working in law enforcement and shots like that remind me far too much of some of the post traumatic stress nightmares I still have of crime scenes I photographed and/or investigated.
You are doing an excellent job of documenting that life stylethrough excellent photography and that probably needs to be done, but even if it were close by, don't expect me to attend the opening! I really hate that sheiss! I don't see erotica or beauty in self mutilation and scarification. What I see are a number of ladies who in 15 or 20 years will deeply regret what they have done to themselves. Scars, such as on her skin, don't go away, but attitudes change. Frankly, I could not do the collection you are doing.
In spite of my personal beliefs, I commend you jfor doing it.
