"Wayne , What you posted is very close to being an exceptional image."
Thanks, but what must be changed to make it an"exceptional image" to you?
": I spent a good deal of time looking at your very nice site."
Thanks. Feedback is always welcomed.
"What exactly is 'museum quality' photography? Do museums have photographs?"
A photograph that could be accepted for showing in a land-based museum. Museums do display photographs.
"I read on your site’s entry page several different labels for photographs of the female form.
: 1. Artistic nudes.
: 2. Figure studies.
: 3. Erotic nudes.
: A FigureNUDE will be the first and possibly the second but never the third! It is a slight expansion of number two."
The "labels" are to describe what is inside my website. The images are not meant as an definitive description of what is or is not artistic or erotic.
I'm in the process now of doing away with those label since I shoot much more than just those 3 types of photos. My images will now be branded as simply "Nudes of Modern Women".
": In the post, you are not accepting the modern
: reality that one can do anything to an image
: to introduce an appearance normally called
: grain better than film ever could. Show me a
: grainy image you like and RogerZ or I can
: tell you step by step how to Photochop the
: same thing. It is not our tools it is our
: vision."Sorry but this is boloney. The only truth I read is that photoshop creates "an appearance of grain". But better than film - you're fooling yourself. Photoshop creates an even grain pattern across the entire image where as film grain is determined by lighting, exposure and developing times. There simply is no one shoe fits all photoshop action.
"What is the significant
: difference in the first female God made
: {Eve} and a ‘modern’ woman?"About 2000+ years of evolution. Add in there iPods, cell phones, Oprah, Victoria's Secret, etc.
": Wayne , I see on your site that you have a
: poll about a way to charge for the site."Yeah, I use polls and surveys to find out what my viewers like and dislike about things. What people like viewing and what they'll pay to view is totally different in most cases ($10 per person to watch Superman Returns and nothing to view hundreds of quality photographs?).
": Take a look at THE NEW NUDE Forum at just
: my work and then delete the question. It is
: ALL free!"Sorry that you feel this way. But just because you feel YOUR images have NO VALUE this does not mean everyone else has to follow suit. I think Doug, RogerZ, Dave and plenty others have quality work that can generate a sizable income if placed in a pay-to-view setting.
Look what Michelle7.com as done - they were once a free site but now charge a monthly fee for access. There are several things that we all need to do and overcome.Curtis, The New Nude forum you talk about is owned by erotic photographer Petter Hegre (hegre-art.com). If you remember back in 2002 when he started that site he had images on it the were grainy and out of focus. He had people complaining about him having too many images of his wife Luba on it. He now has about 70,000 images on it and is making a ton of money.
If he can do it why can't the rest of us also? Are glamour photographers the only ones allowed to make money online with their websites?
": Sensual is ok. Erotic is not!"
Most shooters on this forum create imagery that our models (or clients) love. If they want erotic then that's what they'll get since they are paying. But when we shoot for ourselves, we are free to create any type of photos we so please.
I don't limit myself to 2 or 3 types of photography even though I may choose to only show that on Figureshooter.com. In the coming months I'll will be adding more erotic images and maybe some glamour as well. Also, I think Doug's theme is wonderful and he should work really hard at increasing the amount of images in that series. This forum should be about each persons personal vision and not about style labeling or limiting each other visions.
"I just redesigned my whole website and used Coppermine’s software which is beyond my knowledge of Perl programming. "
Coppermine is a PHP script. I use it also. Looking at your site Curtis, you have erotic images on it as well. A photo of a girl grabbing her breast is erotic and therefore sexual as you stated.
": Fine Art · and Figure are OK, but Fetish and Erotic Fashion only lower expectations."
Lower expectation? I disagree. The forum viewers are smart - so let them decide what they may like.
Good luck with the exhibit.
