Curtis, I'm not particularly concerned with people copying images from online. They're only a pale imitation of what the real photo looks like anyway.
What WAS a problem is the people hotlinking to my images on femmefete and using them on other, high-traffic sites.
The current workaround, which is very porous, happened to slice my bandwidth in about half, saving me a bunch of money. If there's a better fix somewhere, I'd love to get it, because the current one occasionally makes people turn off their firewalls to see my photos.
Ultimately, I figure leaving the request does no real harm, so I'll leave it. Removing it would remove even the remotest chance that somebody's going to have a better workaround.
You're right that there's nothing to do to make it impossible to capture images. If you can see it on the screen, you can capture it. But I got tired of paying hefty bandwidth fees to help another site expand its membership. Luckily, that version of theft has been reduced to a manageable extent. Now, I can go about populating the site with some better and newer images.
